To demonstrate the forces involved in thermal expansion or contraction. Consists of a heavy cast iron frame with slotted end pillars that support an iron bar.
The bar is threaded at one end, allowing for the attachment of a large tensioning nut, and it features holes at the other end to accommodate the cast iron breaking bars.
