This experiment showcases the disparities in thermal radiation emitted by various surfaces with identical temperatures. The setup consists of a square box made of galvanized iron, measuring 130 mm on each side. The box features four vertical faces, each treated differently: one is coated with black paint, another is roughened, the third is varnished, and the fourth is polished. A lid is provided to cover the top opening. To conduct the experiment, water is filled into the box, and an external infrared sensor, like a digital infrared thermometer, can be employed to compare the relative intensity of radiant heat emitted from each of the four surfaces.
